Review – Nadia Sheikh: Toxic

John Kennedy’s recommends’ track of the week, added to the playlist of Radio X X-posure, played on The Rock Show on BBC Radio 2 and monster social media traction continues to grow –  Safe to say it’s been a great week so far for Nadia Sheikh, and it’s nothing more than she and her band deserve.

New release “Toxic” is fucking class.  Nadia’s beautiful voice with at times a punk edge just lurking underneath works perfectly with rocky rhythm section.

Anyone who has been lucky enough to see Nadia in an intimate venue recently will now the a song like “Toxic” is elevated to a completely new level when you hear these vocals first hand, so if you like the sound of “Toxic” in 2D, get yourself out seeing live music, get out and see Nadia Sheikh across the country at one of our great music venues this April including on 20th April at the iconic Good Mixer Pub in Camden and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Not only is Toxic brilliant, not only is Nadia Sheikh amazing live but did I mention there is a fucking great video to go with it, brilliantly directed by Harry Fleeting and perhaps with a cheeky nod one of my favourite videos in Blur’s Song 2.  The video is brilliantly shot and is the perfect accompaniment to an quality tune.  See it here:

Keep your eyes out for Nadia Sheikh this year because 2019 looks destined for good times for this London based singer songwriter.  Hopefully the festival mules pull their fingers out of their arses and get her booked up as soon as possible because she deserves to be out to the masses.

Catch Nadia this April in Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester and London!

Peace & Love As Per x
